Overview

Alongside original platforms, I’ve partnered with established entertainment brands to develop narrative-driven video work that integrates seamlessly into existing creative ecosystems. Each collaboration required balancing brand objectives with authored storytelling, ensuring the work felt intentional, cinematic, and aligned with audience expectations.

The focus was never promotion alone, but integration: building concepts that respected both the brand and the creative environment they entered.

The Creative Challenge

Branded storytelling often fails when it prioritizes visibility over coherence.

Each collaboration presented the same core challenge: how do you create work that serves a brand’s goals while still feeling authored, cinematic, and credible to an audience that values authenticity?

The solution required close collaboration, clear creative boundaries, and disciplined execution.

My Role

Across these projects, I served as creative director and director, leading concept development, production strategy, and execution.

I was responsible for:

  • Creative concepting and narrative direction

  • Stakeholder collaboration and alignment

  • Pre-production planning and execution oversight

  • On-set direction and post-production supervision

In every case, my role was to translate brand intent into work that felt native, cohesive, and creatively sound.

Creative Approach

  • Lead with story and world-building

  • Align brand goals with audience expectations

  • Treat branded work with the same discipline as original IP

  • Protect tone, pacing, and craft as non-negotiables

Successful brand collaboration depends on trust between creative teams, stakeholders, and the audience.

Selected Work

Machinima Skyrim Short Film

Short Film

Machinima commissioned a high-production short film set in the world of Skyrim, intended to compete with premium narrative content emerging from platforms like Netflix.

We pitched and developed an original fan film imagined within the game’s universe, approaching it with the same rigor as a traditional short film rather than episodic web content.

I led the project end-to-end:

  • Concept development and scripting

  • Storyboarding, pre-visualization, and concept art

  • Casting actors and stunt performers

  • Location scouting and production planning

  • Sourcing makeup, wardrobe, props, and custom builds

  • Directing principal photography and overseeing post-production

The entire project was filmed in one week under a tight production schedule, with all deliverables completed on time and within scope. Throughout, I worked closely with Machinima’s stakeholders to ensure alignment between their platform goals and the creative direction.

Square Enix Mobile Game Campaign

Creative Concept & Branded Video

Square Enix approached us to help launch a new mobile title and develop a video campaign that stood apart from conventional mobile game advertising.

I led concept development and creative direction, working directly with Square Enix stakeholders to shape a narrative-driven approach that aligned with both their brand standards and our established creative voice.

The final piece emphasized clarity, tone, and visual storytelling, positioning the game within a memorable creative framework rather than relying on feature-driven promotion alone.

Nintendo Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

Branded Video Production

Nintendo commissioned a branded video to support the release of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker for the Wii U.

We developed and executed a concept that translated the game’s playful world into a live-action environment, filming on location in the lava caves of Southern Utah to evoke the game’s sense of exploration and scale.

I collaborated closely with Nintendo’s team to ensure the concept aligned with their brand voice while still feeling visually distinctive and narratively cohesive. The project balanced logistical complexity with creative restraint, resulting in a piece that felt both cinematic and faithful to the source material.
