RESONANT ARC
Founder & Creative Director
Overview
Resonant Arc was created as a long-form storytelling and analysis platform exploring symbolism, narrative structure, and meaning in video games, film, and television. The goal was to approach these works as cultural texts, shaped by history, psychology, and authorship, rather than as disposable entertainment.
The project focused on depth over speed, curiosity over certainty, and interpretation over opinion.
The Creative Challenge
Most media analysis online prioritizes immediacy and surface-level reaction. Resonant Arc was built around a different question:
How do you create slow, thoughtful, symbolic analysis on a platform optimized for quick takes, and still build an engaged audience?
The challenge was not reach, but patience: trusting that an audience existed for deeper work, and designing a format that rewarded attention rather than distraction.
My Role
I founded Resonant Arc and served as its creative director, shaping the project’s editorial voice, thematic focus, and visual language.
I led:
Concept development and narrative framing
Symbolic and thematic analysis
Visual style, pacing, and tone
Format experimentation and community direction
Each piece was guided by the same intent: to help audiences see familiar stories differently and more clearly.
Creative Approach
Treat games, films, and shows as authored works shaped by human experience
Look beyond plot into symbolism, pattern, and subtext
Contextualize stories through cultural, historical, and biographical lenses
Design visuals that support ideas rather than compete with them
Resonant Arc favored interpretation over judgment, and curiosity over conclusions.
Selected Work
Dark History
A seven-part series exploring the lesser-known and often unsettling stories behind the video game industry, including organized crime involvement, corporate power struggles, and the fractured partnership between Nintendo and Sony.
To support the tone and subject matter, I developed a new visual style built around silhouettes and restrained motion, allowing difficult material to feel engaging without becoming sensational.
The series expanded the channel’s scope beyond analysis into investigative storytelling, while maintaining the same narrative discipline and visual coherence.

One Punch Man
One of several long-form analyses examining television and film through symbolism rather than review. Rather than focusing on plot or critique, the episode explored why One Punch Man resonates psychologically, culturally, and narratively.
The analysis traced recurring patterns, archetypes, and thematic inversions, while also considering historical and personal influences in the lives of its creators.
This approach positioned Resonant Arc distinctly apart from traditional media commentary, offering audiences a framework for understanding why stories endure, not just whether they succeed.

Final Fantasy VIII Analysis (Episode 1)
This series introduced a book-club-style format for deep narrative analysis, inviting audiences to move through a story slowly and collectively.
Recognizing an unmet need in the market, the project reframed long, complex games as texts to be revisited and discussed rather than consumed once and dismissed. The format encouraged reflection, theory, and shared discovery.
Over time, this approach fostered a tightly knit community. A dedicated audience invested not just in the content, but in the process of interpretation itself.
